Socialising + Sanitising

The physical and mental well-being of your team returning to work is important - here's how you can help

You will all agree that at some stage ...surely … we will all be returning to some form of normalcy, including work!

I don’t know about you; however, I love catching up with our team face to face and having coffee.

It’s important for everyone’s mental health to be interacting with other people and, for many of us, a big part of that is in the workplace. For many of us work is a team environment and gives us the ability to interact with others face to face with ad hoc meetings over coffee. Love ad hoc meetings and love coffee!

Unfortunately, in this era of a global pandemic we need to be a bit more mindful and careful with that return to work … we need to be a bit more “Covid aware” so that everyone is kept physically and mentally safe.

Many workplaces are open plan with many areas where people gather and sit together. While these environments are awesome for catch ups, casual meetings … and world changing exchanges … they have their pitfalls in a time where social distancing is necessary and high levels of hygiene are important.

The typical workplace has multiple shared spaces like meeting rooms, kitchens and washrooms which all have the potential for cross contamination … casual meeting areas are often overlooked when it comes to hygiene and safety.

Complete cleaning of these areas after every exchange is simply not that feasible.

A very practical way you can do your part to help with the mental and physical well-being of your team is to regularly sanitise the high touch points in your meeting rooms and areas:

The high touch points in these areas are:

  •  Door handles
  •  Doors between hip and shoulder height where they are most often touched
  •  Table tops
  •  Taps in kitchens
  •  Appliances such as kettle, microwave
  •  The tops of your seat backs

You can easily do this using your existing kitchen towels or paper hand towels and a sanitising spray, such as Say No 19

Just the simple, easy act of having a sanitiser spray available in these areas to give everyone the peace of mind they are keeping themselves and their workmates safe will also mean you are doing everything you can to stop any contamination from germs and viruses.
